Network management systems provider Arbor Networks is enhancing its contract with PromonLogicalis, integrator of telecommunications and information technology systems in Brazil. PromonLogicalis will offer Arbor’s full line of Peaklow products, including the Peakflow SP platform, the service for the detection and mitigation of network-borne attacks. PromonLogicalis will be selling the full line of Arbor Networks Peakflow products, including Peakflow SP platform for IP flow-based network security, visibility and analysis. Arbor’s Peakflow SP fends off malicious threats and thwarts distributed denial of service attacks. Peakflow SP improves IPv4 and IPv6 traffic engineering. Peakflow SP is tightly integrated with Arbor’s Threat Management System that automatically detects and surgically removes only attack traffic while maintaining legitimate business traffic. In addition to application-layer attack detection and mitigation, the Threat Management System delivers visibility into critical IP services and applications running on the network, such as DNS, HTTP, VoIP, IM, P2P and IPv6 traffic. Arbor’s enterprise product, Peakflow X, is available in an appliance-based version as well as a virtualised version, and it provides the pervasive and network visibility that is needed to monitor the external security threats, internal network usage, and more than 100 bandwidth-sapping applications. Peakflow X uses IP flow technology in existing network devices. It analyses flow statistics to define normal network behaviour. Then, in real-time, its embedded Network Behavioral Analysis technology identifies abnormal activity that can indicate a developing security attack long before its signature is created. Since Peakflow X detects network anomalies and threats using NBA technology, it is complementary to signature-based security products such as IDS/IPS, anti-virus and firewalls.
